Health and Safety Awareness (HSA)
This Site Safety Plus course is a popular route for anyone looking to take their first step towards obtaining a CSCS Labourers (Green) Card.
This one day course can be for those who have entered, or are about to enter, the construction and civil engineering industry. The course gives candidates an awareness of health and safety and how it affects their daily role.

Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
The SMSTS course is one of the most highly respected qualifications for persons who are responsible for the management of construction activities such as construction, building maintenance or facilities management. Many employers insist that all their site managers hold the certificate.
This is a five-day course which provides project managers, site managers and supervisors, with the knowledge and skills to enable them to ensure healthy and safe conditions for construction site employees.
The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures, and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.
The SMSTS course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all construction managers.

Site Management Safety Training Refresher (SMSTS-R)
The Site Management Safety Training Scheme – Refresher (SMSTS-R) course is for candidates who have previously passed the full Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course or subsequent refresher course and can provide proof of attendance.
* You must complete this SMSTS refresher before your certificate expires or you will need to re-take the full course.
It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up to date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The course includes a wide range of topics as suggested below.
Topics covered:
- The current focus of the Health and Safety Executive’s attention
- Risk assessment and method statements
- Construction Site Health, Safety and Welfare
- Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
- Behavioural safety
- Occupational health
- Overview and changes to the current legislation affecting construction
Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
This is a two-day course and is intended for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities. It provides supervisors with an understanding of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, as well as their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will highlight the requirement to promote health and safety to supervise effectively.
The SSSTS course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all construction supervisors.
